I live in the Gasometers of Vienna since July 18th, 2001.
My Name is Andreas Pöschek and I live in Vienna, Austria. I am an photographer, mediadesigner and technical engineer in medical computer science. In 2001 I introduced a communication system in the Gasometers where I am the manager.
:: I study information and computer science (Informatik) and medical computer science at the Technical University of Vienna (TU-Wien) and Medical University Vienna (AKH Wien) since 2000.
:: In 2004 I started to study Hungarology at the Finno-Ugristic Institute at the University of Vienna. Since 2006 I study in Debrecen (Hungary).
:: In June 2000 I graduated in an high technical collegue (Höhere Technische Lehranstalt) Schulzentrum Ungargasse in computer science, mechanical engineering and economics.
:: I achieved the 2nd place (silver) at my 2nd participation at the international skill contest Abilympics in New Delhi, India in the category studio-portrait photography. (more at the » Abilympic-India-reportage)
I won gold (1st place) at the 5th international Abilympics skill contest in Prague, Czech in the category outdoor photography. (more at the » Abilympic-Prague-reportage)
I achieved the first place in the national Austrian skill contest of the Austrian Chamber of economics in CAD (Computer Aided Design) in Salzburg
:: I am working as professional computer scientist, mediadesigner in the IT branche. My current and past activities are in project management, system analysis and modelling, database and softwareengineering as well as web- and mediadevelopement. Another sector is quality control in software and human interface design at hard- and software.
I am working for several national and international companies as consultant apart from my study.
:: In my free time I am an enthusiastic photographer. My camera is anytime with me. In the last years I have some exhibitions of my photographs in Vienna. Books, magazines and newspapers with photographs of me had been published in USA and Europe. I spend a lot of time with reading books and watching movies.
When weather is fine I like to go on bike-trips in the Alps or sailing on Austrian lakes.
In my holidays I travel a lot around the wolrd and make photoreportages of foreign cultures, architecture and landscapes.
I am chairman of the Gasometer Community. An organization by and for inhabitants of the Gasometer-buildings in Vienna.
